The Family Behind J + D
Our Beginning. J + D Appliance Repair began with a simple goal: to provide for our family while serving our community with honest, dependable service.
From Durham to Raleigh. When we first started in Durham, North Carolina, it was truly a family business. Dori managed the office while Jeremiah handled the repairs, and together we built our company one customer at a time. As the business grew, we moved to Raleigh, where we operated from a 1,400-square-foot workshop. There, we repaired and restored appliances for resale while continuing to provide in-home appliance repair throughout the area.
Coming Home to the Triad. In 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic reshaped many lives, we felt called to return closer to family. We relocated to the Triad to be near our parents in Jamestown and Archdale and made the decision to focus exclusively on in-home appliance repair. Since then, we've had the privilege of serving homeowners throughout Greensboro, High Point, and the surrounding communities.
Friendly Voices on the Phone. When you call J + D Appliance Repair today, you may hear a friendly voice. Our longtime friends, Viviana and Darren Chavis, help care for our customers by answering calls and scheduling appointments. Their dedication, kindness, and professionalism allow us to provide the responsive, personal service our customers deserve, and we are incredibly grateful for their friendship and partnership.
Meet Daniel. From time to time, you may notice a rather young face alongside Jeremiah—that's our 13-year-old son, Daniel! Daniel is a lot like his dad and loves spending his free time shadowing Jeremiah on service calls. He has a natural curiosity for how things work and enjoys learning everything he can about appliances and mechanical systems. During downtime in the van, you'll often find him taking apart an old motor to understand how it works or using its parts to build something entirely new.
A Future in the Making. While he's still learning, Daniel is already developing the work ethic, attention to detail, and love of fixing things that have been at the heart of J + D Appliance Repair from the very beginning. We couldn't be more proud to have him learning the family business, and we hope you'll join us in welcoming this young future technician as he begins the journey of following in his father's footsteps.
